More About OobieOobie is a desktop app with its own 3D modelling engine. We wrote that engine ourselves, from scratch.
Sketches, parts, assemblies and drawings all live in one file that updates together, so changing a measurement at the end does not quietly break something at the start. The AI is a fast way in, not a replacement for the model: whatever it builds, you can open up and edit by hand, exactly like something you drew yourself.
Common Questions
Oobie reads and writes the formats your team already uses: STEP and IGES for 3D parts, DXF for 2D drawings, and STL, 3MF, OBJ and PLY for meshes. Solid shapes stay solid on the way out, so nothing arrives as a lump you cannot edit.
Ask about a formatOobie has its own 3D engine, written from scratch. Rounded edges, chamfers, hollowed-out shells, tapers and repeated patterns are built into it rather than bolted on afterwards, which is why they stay editable long after you have made them.
Ask a technical questionYes. Put parts together, tell Oobie how they connect, and it works out how they move. Your 2D drawings come off the same model, so when the part changes the drawing changes with it.
